Syttende Mai Parade 2012

The pictures are out! We had lots of fun celebrating Syttende Mai in Ballard yesterday. Thanks to Jeff Taylor who drove a classy ’34 Ford, revving up his engine — just because he could! We even had a mascot — Scott’s pup patiently waited through the stop and go of being in a parade. We felt a surge of pride as the judges announced that our AKCHO award for the 2011 Bring the Ring Back to Ballard project.

Want a less crowded place to watch the parade next year? The parade has been extended to Ballard Avenue, and the watching is easy! Thanks to everyone who hooted and waved for Ballard Historical Society. We believe in preserving and celebrating Old Ballard — won’t you take a moment to download an application and join us?
