First Hill and Tukwila will offer historical tours this summer. If you’re out and about, plan a stop to learn more about the architecture and local histories of these areas. The First Hill neighborhood of Seattle was home to private clubs, important religious institutions, and swank hotels. And, according to Historic Seattle, “[Tukwila's] history goes back to the days of the first permanent white settlements in the Duwamish River Valley in the mid-1800s.” So you see, there’s a lot to learn from these historic areas.
