Lovely ’34 Ford to join BHS at 2011 Syttende Mai Parade!

Jeff Taylor's Root Beer-colored 1934 Ford

Ballard Historical Society members are busy planning our theme and inviting marchers for the 5/17 Syttende Mai Norwegian Constitution Day parade.  We hope you’ll join us!

If you’re a BHS member interested in joining us, please wear vintage outfits and be prepared to spend a couple of hours in the Seattle May 17th weather.

The parade will begin at 6pm and there’s a great website detailing it at: http://17thofmay.org/Parade.html.  If you’re marching, we’ll assemble earlier than the official start time.  Details for all of the fun will follow on this blog!

Also, every participant needs to fill out the “Hold Harmless Agreement” found on the parade website (2nd page of parade application) which can be turned in on parade day.

Above is a photo of Mr. Jeff Taylor’s beautiful 1934 Ford, which will drive the parade route with The Ballard Historical Society!  Do you have a vintage car that might like to take a spin with us?  If so, contact Mary Schile at vp@ballardhistory.org or 206-601-4377.

This parade was such fun last year! Rain or shine it has a great small town vibe to it! Keeping my fingers crossed for blue skies again…..
