Since 1889, the Norwegian-American community of the Pacific Northwest has celebrated Norwegian Constitution Day with a parade in Ballard. This year’s Syttende Mai Parade is on Tuesday, May 17th at 6:00 p.m. It is the third largest celebration of the holiday in the world. Are you feeling nostalgic? We invite our historical society members to join our parade entry or just come out and watch. We walk accompanied by a couple of great vintage cars, dress in a casual 1950s look and toss bubblegum to the crowd. We have a lot of fun while doing our best to represent a simpler time in Ballard’s history. You can call our coordinator Lesli at 206-992-7010 for our parade entry details and time to meet.
